Religious Right

Daitatu Amni Mosque (Walworth Road) organise and conduct religious rites and ceremonies for the benefit of all mosque users. These include:

Nikkah (Wedding Ceremony)

The marriage between a bride and groom is a legal contract, known as Nikkah. The Nikkah ceremony is one part of several steps of a marriage arrangement in Islamic tradition.

Aqeeqah (Naming Ceremony)

This is part of the legacy inherited from Prophet Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) and a great Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sacrificed a goat each for his grandsons Al-Hasan (RA) and Al-Husayn (RA). It is recommended that, on the day of aqeeqah, the child is given a good name, his/her head is shaved, and his/her hair is weighed and the equivalent in money of its weight in gold is given in charity.

Janaazah (Funeral Prayer)

The Janazah or “Islamic funeral prayer” is a part of the funeral rituals as detailed by the Shari’ah. The prayer is performed in congregation to seek pardon for the any Muslims that have passed away.
